About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, developing, managing, and implementing program specific special projects. This includes gathering requirements for the special project through direct interface with members of various departments, clients, and administration. The role assists in specification and budget analysis for proposed special projects, and with time and resource management throughout the development cycle. The Project Manager works closely with development teams to plan, perform, and maintain special products, tracks project deadlines, and is accountable to meet all deadlines. They also track project progress and outcomes and provide oral and written presentations as requested to share special projects with other departments and external entities. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in public or information management.
  • 2 years’ experience in related area.
  • Typing 60 words per minutes with accuracy.
  • Knowledge of computers, faxes, printers and all other equipment.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Power Point).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, high stress environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Highly motivated, proactive personality.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Healthcare and Managed Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program specific special projects.
  • Coordinates the activities of personnel involved in the department and implementation of special projects.
  • Works closely with Decision Support to retrieve useful data for decision making purposes.
  • Confers with Chief Financial Officer to determine basic departmental policies and operating procedures and coordinates implementation.
  • Assesses departmental priorities and objectives and makes action recommendations to the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Develops operating budget for program specific special projects.
  • Performs departmental and program specific analysis.
  • Conducts complex studies and prepares reports.
  • Attends meetings with members of other departments.
  • Works independently and with other team members to determine the appropriate course of action to implement new innovations.
  • Represents the department on committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Analyzes detailed cost reports and determines areas where expenses can be minimized.
  • Analyzes state law and regulations to ensure departmental program compliance.
  • Interacts professionally with other healthcare service providers.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to management, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Participates in the efficient, effective, and responsible use of resources such as supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains all reference material that is provided by the supervisor, manager or director.
  • Knows and follows the Employee Handbook policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
