Project Manager – Commercial Construction - Jackson, MS

United Contractor ServicesJackson, MS

About The Position

Projects That Matter. A Team That Values You. United Contractor Services (UCS) is a national specialty subcontractor with a reputation built on quality craftsmanship, collaborative culture, and consistent execution on large-scale commercial construction projects across the country. We're growing, and we're looking for a Project Manager who brings both the technical chops and the people skills to help us keep raising the bar. What You'll Be Doing You'll take ownership of commercial drywall projects from the first preconstruction meeting through final closeout - keeping budgets, schedules, teams, and client relationships moving in the right direction. But beyond the mechanics of project management, we're looking for someone who leads with energy, communicates with purpose, and genuinely enjoys the people side of this work.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of project management experience in commercial construction - drywall or similar trades preferred
  • Strong technical foundation: project management software, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and documentation
  • A natural communicator and relationship builder - you connect easily with clients, crews, and colleagues alike
  • Demonstrated leadership ability: you motivate teams, drive accountability, and keep morale high even when the job gets tough
  • A client-first mindset - you understand what owners and GCs need and consistently deliver on it
  • Adaptable and composed under pressure - you adjust quickly when project conditions change

Responsibilities

  • Direct the full project lifecycle - preconstruction, scheduling, execution, and closeout
  • Develop and manage project schedules and milestones, keeping all stakeholders aligned
  • Proactively track and control project budgets to ensure cost efficiency and profitability
  • Identify, evaluate, and get ahead of risks before they become problems
  • Maintain thorough project documentation in compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and project stakeholders
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of communication and service at every project stage
  • Build lasting relationships with subcontractors, trade partners, and the broader project team
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and reinforce a collaborative, solutions-focused environment
  • Lead and mentor project staff, fostering accountability, morale, and a high-energy team culture
  • Model the communication standards and problem-solving approach you expect from your team

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • The chance to work on impactful, large-scale projects with experienced professionals
  • A culture where personality, initiative, and people skills are valued just as much as technical ability
  • A team environment built on integrity, collaboration, and a shared drive to build something exceptional
