About The Position

The Project Manager, Campus Planning and Facilities Design (CP&FD) Office is responsible for the planning, design coordination, execution, and closeout of assigned capital and renovation projects across campus, including offices, classrooms, laboratories, and other academic, research, residential, and administrative facilities. The Project Manager serves as the Institute’s representative throughout the project lifecycle and functions as a designer, cost estimator, project manager, and contract administrator. The Project Manager collaborates closely with campus clients, consultants, contractors, Procurement Services, Physical Plant, Information Technology, Environmental Health & Safety, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with institutional standards, applicable codes, and funding requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Construction Technology, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in renovation and/or new construction design and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing cost estimates, managing construction budgets, and overseeing contractors.
  • Experience coordinating design and construction activities within an institutional or higher education environment.
  • Relevant combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a specific degree.
  • Working knowledge of construction project delivery methods, renovation processes, and means and methods
  • Understanding of architectural and interior design principles, building systems, and MEP coordination
  • Knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting, and basic engineering economics.
  • Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Awareness of applicable codes, life safety requirements, and accessibility standards
  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office software
  • Ability to analyze complex information and develop practical, implementable solutions
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to urgent issues and emergencies
  • Ability to work effectively in office and active construction site environments
