About The Position

This role oversees the full lifecycle of a major Laboratory Information Management System transition, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery of a modernized platform that enhances data integrity, workflow automation, and real-time reporting. The position requires strong leadership to drive project activities from initiation through implementation while coordinating diverse technical teams, stakeholders, and vendor partners.

Requirements

  • 5 years PMI PMP certification.
  • 7–9 years experience managing technical initiatives with large, multi-disciplinary project teams and vendor involvement.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, communication (verbal and written), leadership, negotiation, influencing, organization, problem-solving, teambuilding, and interpersonal collaboration.
  • High level of business and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly and work independently.
  • Ability to work onsite two days per week.

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a major enterprise LIMS transition project, overseeing all phases from planning through implementation.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Management Plan, schedule, scope, estimates, communication plan, and deliverables matrix.
  • Coordinate full project lifecycle activities including requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, risks, issues, and budget; take corrective action and manage changes through established processes.
  • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure requirements and solution needs are met.
  • Communicate project status, decisions, risks, and recommendations to leadership, sponsors, and project teams.
  • Maintain RAID+ logs, track metrics, and provide recurring project reporting and documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related issues and resolutions.
  • Support and align with PMO standards, contribute to process improvements, and ensure compliance with organizational methodologies.
  • Coordinate system testing, training, orientation, and transition-to-production activities.
  • Mentor junior project management staff and balance team workload to support project objectives.
  • Manage project artifacts, documentation, and collaboration tools, including SharePoint, Teams, and required reporting systems.
