About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing Kenaitze Indian Tribe's construction and capital projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance for budgetary performance, scheduling, quality, and building and safety regulations. This position will routinely interface with stakeholders, including staff, vendors, governmental agencies, and various other entities and individuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in building science, construction management or civil engineering or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree
  • Five years of project management experience
  • Construction management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, FMX and related software
  • Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy
  • Must have Microsoft certification or obtain within four (4) months of hire
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications and other architectural and engineer communications and drawings
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in technical writing skills
  • Ability to be detailed oriented and organized
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to foster effective teamwork and collaboration
  • Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project planning from predesign through completion.
  • Maintain and populate required project management logs.
  • Track project changes, assess project risks, follow procurement requirements and procedures, oversee quality control, and scheduling plans.
  • Create, manage, and maintain all project documents within the project file folders, utilizing Microsoft Project, FMX, and related software
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Team during the design, engineering, and constructability phases, including design and value engineering workshops
  • Direct and manage project work to ensure the timeliness, compliance, and quality of all project activities and materials, including adherence to permitting requirements and budgetary constraints
  • Schedule and manage regular meetings with all stakeholders, including staff, architects, engineers, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other entities and individuals
  • Assist, direct, perform, and manage project closeout requirements including O & M Manuals, As-Build Drawings, final inspections, Punch List Items, Commissioning, Staff Training, and Certificate of Occupancy
  • Draft necessary information for RFP's and contracts, to include scope, duration, cost, and evaluation parameters, providing advice and guidance to Procurement for solicitation of construction services and purchases of equipment and furnishings
  • Communicate with all stakeholders in a thorough, timely, and transparent manner
  • Ensure and enforce required health and safety practices and procedures for all project and job sites, including Tribal, federal, state, and local policies and regulations
  • Promote positive, ethical working relationships with all stakeholders, including staff, un'ina, vendors, governmental agencies, and other entities and individuals
  • Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance
