About The Position

Berkshire Grey is looking for a motivated and experienced project manager to join our team and implement automated and robotic solutions at customer locations. The Project Manager will oversee complex, large-scale projects that involve multiple stakeholders. This role includes planning, executing, and delivering projects, requiring strong leadership and communication skills. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the robotics or supply chain industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI reporting tool.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies.
  • Experience with risk management and issue resolution processes.

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules/plans in PSA tool to ensure timely delivery of all project milestones.
  • Create and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Scope Management: Define and document project scope, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear understanding of project boundaries and deliverables.
  • Obtain signoff by key BG & Customer Resources on the Baselined Project Scope at the end of the Design Phase of Projects.
  • Manage and control scope changes through a formal change management process, ensuring all modifications are approved and documented.
  • Ensure that any changes to the project scope are communicated to all stakeholders and reflected in project plans and schedules.
  • Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Process and track change orders, ensuring all modifications are documented and approved.
  • Monitor for potential budget overruns and provide timely Overrun Alerts in the PSA tool and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Generate and update Project Cost Forecasts in the PSA tool monthly to review with Finance at the Monthly Project Performance Meeting.
  • Project Kickoff: Gather and organize the project team responsible for delivering the project scope.
  • Confirm the availability of resources and define roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure all team members understand the confirmed project scope and schedule.
  • Initiate the design phase by outlining initial design requirements and expectations.
  • Facilitate a project kickoff meeting to align all stakeholders and set the stage for project execution.
  • Quality Management: Develop and implement quality plans to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications and there is alignment between BG, Vendors, and Customer resources.
  • Monitor and track project quality metrics and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure the BG Team has detailed Test Scenarios documented and reviewed with the Customer. Track progress on the execution of these Test Scenarios.
  • Volume Ramp Plans: Develop and manage volume ramp plans to ensure smooth transitions from prototype to full-scale production.
  • Coordinate with BG, Vendor, & Customer teams to ensure alignment and readiness for production ramp-up.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks through the development and maintenance of risk registers.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize project impact.
  • Review risk register as a team periodically throughout the project life cycle.
  • Issue Management: Maintain issue trackers to document and resolve project-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure effective communication and resolution of issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select vendors (general construction, system rigging, installation, conveyor providers, etc.) to ensure the best quality and cost-effectiveness for project needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance, ensuring timely delivery, installation, and quality of materials and services.
  • Resolve any issues with vendors and negotiate changes or improvements as necessary.
  • Status Reporting and Communication: Generate a Communications Plan at the start of the project to align a schedule of meetings to include time, frequency, attendees, and agenda items to discuss.
  • Establish a Project Steering Committee and agree upon a schedule of meetings.
  • Conduct weekly project status calls with internal and external stakeholders to review project progress and address any concerns.
  • Prepare and share detailed weekly status reports that include project updates, risk assessments, and action items.
  • Prepare and share results of Project at Monthly Project Reporting Meeting with Executives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project management efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in robotics and supply chain management.
  • Project Closeout Management: Ensure all project deliverables have been completed and signed off by the customer.
  • Update and organize all project documentation, ensuring it is in the correct project folders.
  • Conduct a lesson learned meeting with all relevant stakeholders to review project successes and areas for improvement.
  • Notify all parties of the official closing of the project and the release of resources.
  • Facilitate the transition of the project to the support team, ensuring they have all necessary information and documentation.
  • Manage Multiple Projects: Manage multiple projects that are running concurrently, ensuring that Scope, Schedule, and Budget are controlled on all projects.
  • Support Sales Cycle Project Estimates as needed.
