About The Position

As a Project Manager, you will lead the execution of federal construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, cost, schedule, and compliance objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with program managers, internal teams, subcontractors, and federal clients to deliver projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of operational excellence. This role provides an opportunity to directly influence project outcomes, manage resources across multiple disciplines, and implement best practices in project management. You will oversee budgeting, scheduling, and reporting, while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork. Remote work is supported, with occasional travel required to project sites. Strong leadership, analytical skills, and communication capabilities are critical for success in this dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years managing federal construction projects valued at $5M or more
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required within 12 months of hire
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional certifications such as PgMP, ITIL, or Six Sigma are a plus
  • Proven knowledge of federal construction contracts and regulatory requirements (DOE, DOD, NAVFAC, USACE, or similar)
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), cost control tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills in a matrixed organizational environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance; background check required
  • Willingness to travel up to 35% with overnight stays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of assigned federal construction projects from initiation through completion, coordinating all project stages and Integrated Project Teams (IPTs)
  • Collaborate with federal agencies, internal teams, subcontractors, and partners to ensure alignment and successful project delivery
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance while maintaining DCAA-compliant documentation
  • Establish and maintain project schedules, track milestones, monitor progress, and initiate recovery plans as needed
  • Provide transparent reporting on safety, cost, and schedule metrics to Program Management and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including FAR/DFARS, DCAA standards, ISO 9001, NIST 800-171, and other quality requirements
  • Mentor and supervise project teams, promoting collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Maintain project documentation and reporting in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
