The Team You’ll Work With: The NYC World Cup team is responsible for ensuring that the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches held in NY/NY take place smoothly and safely, and to identify opportunities for engagement across the five boroughs. The Problems You’ll Solve: We’re seeking a Project Manager to join our team on a temporary basis; March – August 1, 2026 (approximate), to support NYC World Cup programming. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, a quick learner, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • You have strong writing and communication skills, especially experience developing effective high-level presentations, memos, and reports.
  • You have discretion, sensitivity, and attention to detail.
  • You have experience with executive communication and high-level stakeholder management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management, especially cross-functionally or cross-departmentally.

Responsibilities

  • Project management, including task tracking, defining project scope, implementing standard operating procedures, monitoring deliverables, and conducting follow-up from meetings.
  • Stakeholder management, including reporting on project status, convening and facilitating meetings, and serving as a representative for the team in interagency and external meetings.
  • Research and writing, including basic data analysis and landscape assessments.
  • Administrative support, including scheduling, note-taking, and brief writing when required.
  • Risk management, including identifying risks and developing mitigation plans to avoid project delays.
