About The Position

Rycon Construction is an employee-owned company (ESOP) that provides construction management, general contracting, and design-build services nationwide. An ENR Top 400 Contractor, ENR Top 100 Green Contractor, and BD+C Top 150 Contractor with nine offices, Rycon specializes in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. From large-scale developments to small, fast-track interior fit-outs, Rycon is equipped to deliver a comprehensive range of services across all project types. Rycon’s portfolio includes projects in healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, food service/dining, retail, financial, self-storage, governmental, and LEED facilities. We have an in-house Architectural Woodwork & Specialty Fabrication Division that ships/installs nationally. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager at our Fort Myers office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) + years’ experience in managing multiple retail commercial projects valued at $5 million and up.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to direct complex projects from concept to fully operational status.
  • Must have tilt experience.
  • Computer Skills Required – Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to create material take-off’s.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Marketing and presentation skills.
  • Should be highly organized, highly motivated and a detail directed problem solver.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in a construction/engineering field preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of south Florida construction market is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reading of documents and contracts.
  • Manage multiple projects.
  • Writing subcontracts.
  • Negotiating and awarding subcontracts.
  • Reviewing/preparing subcontractors scope of work.
  • Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
  • Assist in estimating process.
  • Review/prepare change orders.
  • Develop/track submittals, RFI’s and cost reports.
  • Maintain owner relations.
