Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 6+ years of related engineering experience, including work requiring independent judgment and problem solving.
  • Experience leading project teams and coordinating technical work across multiple project phases.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal teams and hold yourself and others accountable to commitments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering W/WW transmission and utilities projects (pipelines, pump stations, tanks, valve facilities, and related infrastructure).
  • Experience managing multi-office teams and balancing workload across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience supporting construction administration and collaborating effectively with contractors and vendors.
  • Interest in growing client relationships over time (with support from practice leadership and client teams).
  • Experience mentoring engineers and designers through clear direction, feedback, and coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Lead W/WW transmission and utilities projects from planning through design, permitting, and construction support.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and staffing across multiple projects while keeping stakeholders aligned and informed.
  • Direct and review engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring quality and consistency with FNI standards.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline teams (including subconsultants) and assign work to engineers, designers, and technicians to meet project commitments.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulators, contractors, and vendors, building trusted relationships through clear communication and follow-through.
  • Support project financial performance by developing estimates, monitoring project charges, and proactively managing risks and change.
  • Bring forward practical improvements to tools, workflows, and project delivery approaches that help teams work smarter and deliver better outcomes.
  • Provide construction-phase leadership as needed, including field coordination and resident engineering support on complex projects.
