About The Position

J2 Building Consultants is seeking a Project Manager Trainee to support our Project Management team. This role is designed for individuals who are early in their project management journey and are interested in developing the skills needed to grow into a Project Manager I (PM1) role over time. You’ll work closely with experienced Project Managers, gaining hands-on exposure to building envelope consulting projects and learning how work moves from site observations to final deliverables. This is a training role, not an independent project management position.

Individuals interested in project management, construction, or building consulting
Detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn
Comfortable working in both office and field environments
Strong communication and organizational skills
No prior project management experience required

Responsibilities

Learn the Project Lifecycle
Support active projects from planning through execution by assisting with coordination, documentation, and follow-up tasks.
Support Project Coordination
Help schedule site visits and inspections
Assist with organizing project files, notes, and photos
Support coordination between internal teams, clients, and contractors
Participate in Field Work
Attend site visits to observe conditions, document progress, and learn how consultants evaluate building envelope systems.
Build Reporting Skills
Assist with compiling site observations
Help prepare draft documentation and internal reports
Learn how technical information is translated into clear recommendations
Learn Through Mentorship
Work under the guidance of experienced Project Managers who will provide direction, feedback, and on-the-job training.
