About The Position

Love digging into complex accounting questions and keeping projects on track? Join Penske's Technical Accounting team as a Project Manager, where you'll manage accounting projects, research emerging standards, and use your technical skills to drive process improvements. Working closely with the Director of Controllership – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting, you'll take ownership of initiatives that keep us compliant with U.S. GAAP while continuously improving our processes, and also provide direct support to the financial reporting team. This role gives you more autonomy and exposure—you'll manage projects from start to finish, participate in leadership discussions, and develop the expertise that makes you a go-to resource for technical accounting matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and initiatives that keep our Accounting Services and Controllership group running smoothly.
  • Lead implementation of new accounting standards and coordinating process improvements
  • Manage special projects that require technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration
  • Participate in meetings with leadership, present your findings and recommendations, and manage project timelines in close coordination with the Director.
  • Ensure projects stay on track while maintaining the technical accuracy and compliance standards that support reliable financial reporting across the organization.
  • Provide support and guidance to other team members – especially the financial reporting team during peak times in the reporting cycle.
