Job Summary: The Manager, Revenue Accounting is responsible for overseeing revenue recognition (BASX BU), ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial analysis and reporting. Mgr. Technical Accounting will research and document complex accounting transactions, assisting management in determining appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP. The position will work closely with all members of the accounting department, senior leadership and financial management to produce timely, accurate and relevant financial accounting and reporting information. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Mgr, Project Revenues): Leads a team of accounting professionals in the tracking of revenue related to production, inventory, and long-term contracts. Ensures clear roles, goals, expectations, and processes. Provides team member training and coaching to accomplish goals. Intervenes as needed to address problems and support team members. Builds team cohesiveness by creating opportunities for fellowship and relationship building. Addresses conflict early to enable team effectiveness. Ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards. Analyzes financial data and provides insights to senior management. Collaborates with internal teams, including sales, legal, production and tax advisors. Manages financial close activities related to revenue, contract assets and liabilities. Develops and implements revenue accounting policies and procedures. Supports audits and regulatory reporting requirements. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Mgr, Technical Accounting): Researching and implementing new accounting standards that are deemed applicable to the Company. Establishing and documenting accounting policies and positions in accordance with GAAP. Working collaboratively with ALL members of the accounting department. Working with other team members outside of accounting department to understand the form and function of new processes and their effects on the financial statements. Working closely with the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure proper disclosure of transactions with the required SEC filings. Maintain a high level of internal control over financial reporting processes. Robust understanding of recent accounting pronouncements (example: ASC 606 and 842). Preparing summaries for new accounting pronouncements for senior leadership and/or board of directors. Robust understanding of SEC reporting requirements. Additional ‘General Accounting’ Responsibilities: Providing periodic back-up support to key roles in the accounting department. Period support of other accounting roles (example: quarterly inventory counts). Assist with audit PBC’s and requests. Ability to work independently, with little supervision. Effectively communicate to upper management.
