About The Position

Plan, initiate, and manage Site Reliability information technology (IT) projects to make systems more resilient, automated, and efficient. Lead and guide the work of technical staff and coordinate across cross-functional engineering teams to deliver improvements. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage including SLO/SLA adherence, error budgeting, and automation scope. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope in reliability engineering initiatives and incident reduction effort. Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems. Monitor or track project milestones and deliverables. Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Assess current or future customer needs and priorities by communicating directly with customers/ Business teams, or other methods. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of Autodesk’s Novi, MI office. Some telecommuting is permitted.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a software developer/engineer-related occupation.
  • Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of Autodesk’s Novi, MI office.
  • Position requires at least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills: Working with AWS Services spanning across Dev, Test and Pre-production and Cloud Automation through Open-Source DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernets, Git, Terraform.
  • Selecting the appropriate AWS services based on Data, Compute and Security Requirements and Identifying appropriate use of AWS Services for best practices.
  • Implementing Infrastructure as code in respective environments using cloud formation, Terraform.
  • Focusing on high availability of applications and having a right disaster recovery plan in case of any failures.
  • Designing and implementing security solutions to protect organization's data and build collaborative partnerships with software architects, technical leads and key individuals within other functional organizations.
  • Implementing Continuous Integration using Jenkins and Code pipeline in AWS.
  • Position also requires at least some experience in each of the following skills: Identifying new tools/technologies that make the release and SCM process more efficient, repeatable, reliable, and cost effective and implement the new solutions which will help business users and customers.
  • Working as a Systems Administrator on Various Unix servers including Debain, Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL.
