We’re looking for a hands‑on, people‑focused Project Manager to guide a talented crew of maintenance technicians and mechanics who support the operation and maintenance of lift stations within Albany’s collection and distribution systems. If you’re energized by leadership, problem‑solving, and keeping critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently, this role is for you. As the Project Manager, you’ll be the go‑to leader overseeing daily operations, long‑term planning, and team development. Your work directly supports the reliability of Albany’s wastewater collection systems—meaning the community depends on you.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of water or wastewater facility operations experience (or an equivalent mix of experience and education).
  • Strong knowledge of water/wastewater systems and the ability to interpret analytical results.
  • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, web‑based tools).
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain the required operator certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a skilled maintenance team.
  • Set project goals, streamline processes, and ensure SOPs are followed.
  • Manage budgets, contracts, and client relationships with confidence.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for lift stations.
  • Ensure regulatory and safety compliance (OSHA, DOT, and more).
  • Collaborate with city leadership and attend council meetings as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement across operations, reporting, and workflow.
