SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for supporting the department by implementing and administering a comprehensive, effective, and efficient preventative maintenance/compliance program. This includes developing job plans, establishing timelines with resources, and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with the resources and activities required to complete the identified work activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Become an expert on the Viaflex CMMS system. Become the CMMS administrator for maintenance. Be the backup for new part number creation Become an expert on intricate details to create and schedule PM’s in the system. Monitor maintenance performance metrics and participate in improving department performance. Responsible for training and coaching the department on CMMS usage. Lead the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program: Responsible for working with production to schedule production downtime for PM’s. Responsible for work order analysis, inspecting running equipment, and getting input from technicians to identify additional repairs and PM improvements weeks prior to the actual PM. Collaborate with the inventory coordinator to kit parts and tools for upcoming work. Collaborate with maintenance management to allocate resources to complete PM’s. Be intimately involved/hands on as needed in all PM’s and communicate technical details across shift changes. Responsible for leading the optimization of PM procedures to improve equipment reliability. Project Management: Collaborate with engineering to identify, lead, and/or support equipment upgrades and large repairs as needed. Participate in the budgeting process to prioritize equipment upgrades. Submit capital project requests with detailed cost, timeline, and ROI estimates. Develop a close working relationship with local machine shops, service contractors, and suppliers. Submit purchase reqs for any non-inventory parts needed for projects. Coolaborate with the inventory coordinator to ensure an adequate supply of inventoried parts are on hand for large projects. Daily Production and Maintenance Support: Responsible for creating a maintenance resource allocation plan for high level activities. Support and lead as necessary specific safety improvements (LOTO, Confined Space, Line Break, Hot Work, etc.). Assist as needed and be a backup for managing maintenance inventory. Assist as needed and be a backup to the maintenance supervisor. (Attend meetings, provide department direction and communication, etc.)
