About The Position

As a leading turnkey specialty contractor specializing in Automation, Electric, Energy, and Power Services, Knobelsdorff is looking for an intern to assist in planning and overseeing multiple solar projects simultaneously. The role involves project and contract execution, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring safety compliance on-site. Interns will interface with clients, manage project materials and equipment, and track project progress while providing regular updates to the leadership team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of industries while contributing to meaningful projects.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an education in Project Management.
  • Ability to work in Goodhue, MN location 5 days/week.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to work on some out-of-town projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee multiple solar projects simultaneously.
  • Execute project and contract management tasks.
  • Schedule and plan project construction, including resource allocation.
  • Report project budget status and updates to the General Manager.
  • Ensure site team compliance with safety procedures.
  • Communicate project status to clients and manage change orders.
  • Order and track materials and equipment for projects.
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure critical milestones are met.
  • Conduct kickoff meetings with project teams.
  • Review contracts and analyze project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop feasible project schedules based on customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with Construction Managers for equipment and personnel needs.
  • Provide feedback to field personnel on project timelines.
  • Coordinate safety materials and reports with the site Construction Manager.
  • Create and track change orders in project management software.
  • Review financials weekly and correct discrepancies.
  • Manage project close-out requirements and customer expectations.
  • Schedule lessons learned meetings with customers.
  • Provide feedback to Pre-Construction and Estimating teams.
  • Track material and equipment orders to meet project timelines.
  • Clarify customer requirements with Engineering and Pre-Construction.
  • Perform regular site visits to monitor progress and performance.
