About The Position

The Innovation and Expansion Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to predetermined timelines and budgets. Responsibilities will include creating and developing project timelines in an electronic project management system. Managing project teams and ensuring quality control and support throughout the project life cycle are central and key to the success of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University
  • 2 – 4 years of work experience in project management and/or school expansion
  • Project management tools and software systems experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing projects and people
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strategic, operational, technical and marketing skills required
  • Ability to rapidly adapt, handle multiple tasks, and respond to change in environment and priorities
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to obtain the cooperation from senior leadership and Department Function Leaders in the organization

Responsibilities

  • Manage project from start to finish to ensure the following School Expansion goals are met. Open schools on time; within budget; fully enrolled; fully staffed; and with staff trained on the school model.
  • Be accountable for project results along with Department Function Leaders and the Executive Vice President of Innovation and Expansion.
  • Work with Department Function Leaders and EVP of Innovation and Expansion to develop the project’s scope, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules for schools assigned in the approved Project Management System, (i.e., start dates, end dates and comments) to identify when each task will be performed.
  • Provide notifications to Department Function Leaders and staff when timelines are not met.
  • Clearly communicate expectations to project team members and stakeholders.
  • Act as a mediator between Department Function Leaders, Superintendents, Regional Directors and Campus Directors.
  • Resolve any issues throughout the project life cycle.
  • Track and report project milestones on Master Project List and review on a weekly basis with the EVP, Innovation and Expansion.
  • Conduct bi-weekly School Start-Up Meetings with assigned schools and project management teams.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate project team members on a proactive basis.
  • Work with EVP of Innovation and Expansion to complete a past project evaluation (Lessons Learned Meeting) to determine how results were achieved.
  • Develop tools and best practices for Innovation and Expansion Project Management execution.
  • Maintain all documentation pertaining to each project in the approved project management system.
  • 40%-60% travel
  • Any other duties as assigned.
