About The Position

The Oklahoma Tax Commission is committed to leading Oklahoma with unparalleled customer service. The project manager oversees the project lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring and closure. They foster collaboration and communication among project team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. They work closely with the Business Analytics team to document project requirements; with the Development team to plan and execute on project deliverables; and with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that deliverables meet the required quality standards and align with the agency's objectives. Their primary focus is to ensure that projects align with the Innovation Programs Team's mission statement, which emphasizes using technology to streamline processes, improve data quality, and enhance the taxpayer experience.

  • Applicants may need to have reliable transportation and be willing and able to perform all job-related travel.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License is also required.
  • applicant must have a secure internet connection and a dedicated telephone (landline) or smart phone device during scheduled working hours.

  • Preference may be given to applicants who have project management experience in tax or government knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Define project success criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options on how to proceed with the project.
  • Collaborate with Business Analytics team to gather requirements and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Manage project activities, track progress, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues during project execution.
  • Oversee project communication and reporting, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between project team members and cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Participate in testing activities and provide feedback on software quality and functionality.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within project management practices.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing innovative solutions that enhance the taxpayer experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and achievements to stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
