About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of industrial construction projects within active processing facilities, with occasional wastewater-related work. This role carries full ownership of project performance, client relationships, and overall delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Project Manager operates with an entrepreneurial mindset and is expected to be self-sufficient, capable of evaluating field conditions, developing solutions in real time, and supporting both preconstruction and execution efforts as needed. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of project management experience working for a general contractor in industrial construction environments within processing facilities.
  • Proven experience managing industrial construction projects from start to finish with full ownership of cost, schedule, and client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, including the ability to read, interpret, and manage contractual risk and obligations.
  • Experience creating and managing subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate field conditions, develop solutions, and understand how projects are built in real-world environments.
  • Ability to perform estimating tasks when required, including developing pricing for change orders and supporting preconstruction efforts.
  • Experience performing quantity takeoffs and cost analysis of various construction methods.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and execution within active industrial or processing environments.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and vendors, including negotiation, coordination, and performance oversight.
  • Ability to identify scope gaps, manage change orders, and communicate impacts effectively to clients and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Procore, Excel, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while collaborating with estimating, operations, and executive leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects from preconstruction handoff through final closeout, maintaining full ownership of project performance, client relationships, and outcomes.
  • Provide and drive the overall project vision in collaboration with the client and internal leadership, ensuring alignment across project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting, including tracking performance against the original estimate and identifying cost risks.
  • Review, interpret, and manage contract documents, ensuring full understanding of project requirements, risks, and obligations.
  • Create and manage subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring proper scope definition, risk allocation, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Lead project planning efforts including scheduling, sequencing, and coordination of work activities within active processing facilities, including development and maintenance of master project schedules.
  • Coordinate with superintendents who direct field operations, ensuring alignment between field execution and project objectives.
  • Collaborate with field teams to develop look-ahead schedules and maintain project momentum through proper planning and communication.
  • Visit project sites, evaluate conditions, take measurements, and develop solutions in real time, including providing constructability input and direction.
  • Develop sketches, concepts, and scope direction to support estimating efforts on new work and change orders.
  • Perform estimating as needed, including pricing change orders and supporting preconstruction efforts when required.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, including buyout, coordination, performance monitoring, and relationship management.
  • Review submittals and ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications, and generate and manage RFIs with owners and engineers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact and driving client satisfaction.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies related to cost, schedule, safety, and contract exposure.
  • Develop and manage change orders, including identifying scope changes, pricing impacts, and negotiating with clients and subcontractors.
  • Monitor purchasing activities to ensure quality materials, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
  • Track project costs, maintain profitability, and generate monthly cost-to-complete forecasts and financial reports.
  • Maintain positive project cash flow and provide monthly projections for project performance.
  • Lead project meetings including internal coordination meetings, subcontractor meetings, and client progress meetings.
  • Ensure all project documentation is properly maintained, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project records.
  • Drive business development efforts by leveraging existing relationships and identifying new project opportunities within client networks.
  • Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams during project handoff to ensure a clear understanding of scope, assumptions, and risks.
  • Monitor project execution to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Operate independently with minimal oversight beyond initial training, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and strong decision-making.
