The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Project Manager for our Raleigh, North Carolina office to lead project management for local, regional and select national projects. Currently Project Management opportunities exist within our K-12, Life Sciences and Commercial Mixed-use practice areas. The successful candidate will work as an advocate for our clients and project teams. They must collaborate and coordinate with the owner and design team, including designers, technical staff, engineers, and consultants. The candidate must have experience with public school systems in North Carolina, including Wake County Public Schools. As a team leader in our office, they will be integral to the growth and advancement of the Raleigh practice.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor of Architecture degree
  • Licensed architect
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience, including minimum 6 years of direct project management experience.
  • Responsible for all aspects of project and client management, scalable from simple renovations to large, complex projects.
  • Broad spectrum of project type and delivery method experience.
  • Familiarization with local and regional jurisdictional authority and code requirements
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well versed in MS Office Suite.
  • Must possess the ability to apply critical thinking, influence, and decision making within a team structure.
  • Knowledge and experience with local and regional areas of practice, including familiarity with North Carolina and the Triangle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project work plan and schedule development, including fee and budget requirements.
  • Lead Raleigh office staffing and workload projections.
  • Track and report project financial performance with PE accounting department.
  • Be a strong advocate for the Clients financial and schedule goals for the project.
  • Coordinate and participate with business development team members, as necessary.
  • Lead negotiating and developing contractual agreements with the Owner and consulting team members.
  • Develop and track invoices for Owners and consultants.
  • Develop fee proposals to support active pursuits.
  • Implement quality control and technical assurance protocols.
  • Lead projects through all phases of development, including the construction phase.
  • Communicate regularly with Operations staff regarding the financial health of the project.
  • Establish transparent communication protocols, to assure well-coordinated documentation of the project.
  • Mentor younger staff within the team.
