About The Position

Accountable for managing medium to large-scale projects or complex initiatives that require strong collaboration across business and IT teams. This role involves organizing project tasks, guiding team members, and ensuring adherence to PMO standards and methodologies. The Project Manager II oversees project requirements, risk assessments, and timelines, providing direction to ensure that projects align with both business objectives and technical needs. Acts as a mentor to junior project team members and liaises with stakeholders to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and implement changes effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead projects in a PMO environment, with experience in coordinating cross-functional resources and handling complex project dependencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and commitment to project accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and provide clear, actionable updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead while promoting teamwork and collaboration within work groups.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proven ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Take initiative and seek out innovative ideas.
  • Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of project management experience, with a focus on managing both business and IT projects.
  • PMP certification required or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of both waterfall and agile project management methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple medium to large business and IT projects or a single complex initiative, from planning through implementation.
  • Define and document project scope, requirements, and deliverables in collaboration with both business and IT leaders.
  • Coordinate resources across departments, including IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors, to ensure effective project execution.
  • Track project progress and manage risks by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between business and IT to support seamless communication, change management, and alignment with PMO standards.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on project best practices and problem-solving techniques.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote standardization within project management practices.
  • Complete other project-related duties as required to achieve project and organizational goals.
