About The Position

Mueller is seeking a strategic and experienced Project Manager to lead enterprise-wide HRIS initiatives that advance the long-term roadmap of the HRIS function. This role is responsible for managing complex, cross-functional programs that optimize and expand Workday HCM capabilities, including job architecture, timekeeping, payroll integrations, and third-party vendor solutions. The Project Manager will serve as a key partner to HR, Payroll, IT, and business leaders, ensuring HR technology initiatives are delivered in alignment with organizational strategy, compliance requirements, and future-state HR operating models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive project management experience, with significant experience leading enterprise HRIS or Workday initiatives
  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday HCM, including module implementations, integrations, and platform optimization
  • Solid understanding of core HR, payroll, timekeeping, and job architecture concepts
  • Demonstrated success leading complex organizational change and driving adoption of new systems and processes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and vendors in a highly matrixed environment

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certification (PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent)
  • Experience building or executing multi-year HRIS or digital HR roadmaps
  • Prior experience managing third-party integrations and decommissioning legacy systems
  • Familiarity with HR compliance, audit readiness, and data governance practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead and govern a portfolio of HRIS initiatives supporting the HR technology roadmap, including Workday module implementations, enhancements, system integrations, and vendor transitions
  • Translate HR and business strategy into executable project plans that drive standardization, scalability, and long-term value
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, and Finance leaders to prioritize initiatives, manage dependencies, and align resources across multiple programs
  • Oversee Workday configuration efforts, integrations with third-party systems, data governance, and platform optimization
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, implementation partners, and system integrators, ensuring accountability and delivery quality
  • Drive organizational change by leading stakeholder engagement, communication, training, and adoption strategies
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to compliance, payroll accuracy, data integrity, and system performance
  • Establish and maintain project governance, metrics, and executive-level reporting to support informed decision-making
  • Continuously assess HRIS capabilities and recommend improvements that support evolving business needs and regulatory requirements
