The Project Manager is responsible for successful administration and management of the delivery of finance system projects within Herc Rentals. This position will work collaboratively across all IT Architecture and Business domains as well as with external service providers to develop and/or improve the ERP, financial reporting systems and related processes using best practices and Herc Rentals technology standards.What you will do...Lead the planning, execution, and final delivery of financial systems projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and on budgetOversee the customization, integration, and implementation of ERP and financial reporting systemsAssist in the development of testing requirements, develop test plans and coordinate testing effortsProvide regular project status updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, using financial analysis skills to inform decision-makingFoster a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to leverage technology and automate processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function Manage all phases of process improvement projects, utilizing methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Lean, or Six Sigma to drive change effectivelyLead efforts to analyze current accounting workflows to pinpoint inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and control gaps within existing financial processes and propose technology-based and procedural solutions to optimize performanceDesign future-state processes, coordinate the implementation of new procedures or supporting technologiesDevelop and execute change management and communication plans, including delivering training and creating documentation, to ensure smooth transitions and sustained adoption of new processesDefine key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of new processes, monitoring performance post-implementation and iterating as neededEnsure all process improvements adhere to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulations, working closely with internal and external auditorsCoordinate with cross-functional teams—Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, Internal Audit, and external vendors—to gather requirements, ensure alignment and implement changes that meet business needsManage project communications – including the status, issues, risks and deliverables
