About The Position

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our growing Climate Resilience & Adaptation Team in our New York City, New York or Bloomfield, New Jersey locations. The preferred candidate possesses strong capabilities and experience in both project management and engineering design to lead multidisciplinary teams on resilient infrastructure planning, design, and construction projects for public and private sector clients. In this role, your work will have a tangible, positive impact in the communities in which we work and live. This position is available for immediate start. The primary responsibilities include: Overall management and responsibility for technical and financial delivery of resiliency projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Development and execution of scope, staffing, schedule, and budget and management of multi-discipline teams including AECOM and subcontractor staff. Function as primary contact with client for all project matters. Lead and guide project team on engineering planning, analysis, design, and construction work, primary focused on extreme weather adaptation, coastal flood risk reduction, sea level rise, stormwater management, and green infrastructure, including both nature-based and hard infrastructure solutions. Author and review technical reports/memorandums. Coordinate and engage with local, state, and federal agencies, project stakeholders, and community groups to gain consensus and approvals as required. Participate on new business proposals with technical and marketing teams. Manage, mentor, and train junior and mid-level staff.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil, Water Resources or Coastal Engineering + 6 Years of Experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex consulting engineering projects, minimum $5M fee, including leading technical teams and coordinating with clients.
  • Experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design development, as well as construction, including drawings, specifications, cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • PE in NY and/or NJ or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience with resilient and/or climate adaptation planning and design, climate hazard/risk assessments and/or water resources infrastructure projects.
  • Other relevant certifications such as CFM or DBIA.
  • Experience with business development, strategic planning and/or proposal preparation.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local regulatory permitting and stakeholder/community engagement.
  • Experience with or oversight of hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling using various software programs such as MIKE-21, InfoWorks, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, etc.
  • Strong business acumen, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
