Job Summary This Project Manager position involves project management responsibilities for projects or workstreams supporting regional or global initiatives. This individual leads assigned Information Technology Operations and Business Systems efforts to successful completion either as stand-alone projects or as part of broader programs. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring objectives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting defined quality expectations. This position will be based onsite at our Westerville, OH - HQ location. Responsibilities: Responsible for leading, planning, execution, and completion of assigned projects or workstreams. Monitors and controls project activities from initiation through delivery. Accountable for project management planning and execution tasks including scope, scheduling, budgeting, costing, resource coordination, risk, and issue management. Continuously assesses project health, anticipating risks and developing mitigation recommendations to maintain the committed plan. Supports development and execution of project recovery or mitigation plans in partnership with leadership. Collects and analyzes data required to create effective written status reports and delivers clear project communications. Proactively engages stakeholders, providing timely, relevant, and transparent updates. Identifies task dependencies and works with owners to ensure the schedule remains on track. Facilitates cross-functional planning and project execution. Provides project updates to stakeholders and program leadership. Monitors schedules and ensures coordination of activities on the critical path. Develops reporting and tracking to assure alignment to scope, schedule, and cost objectives. Identifies key issues, recommends actions, and escalates as needed to protect delivery timelines. Identifies key risks and partners on contingency planning. Partners with managers across operating functions to support resource planning. Interacts with team members and stakeholders, fostering collaboration to enable project success. Coordinates activities across project team members to support achievement of objectives. Participates in continuous improvement of project management practices and tools. Supports preparation for stage gate reviews and adherence to required standards and processes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field 4–8 years of project management experience Experience managing multiple information technology software development projects from inception to closure Strong project planning and organizational skills Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle processes Good understanding of business functional requirements and ability to manage risks and key decisions Excellent presentation skills with the ability to tailor communication to varied audiences Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate Ability to contribute to process development and management practices Understanding of cultural and behavioral influences on project communication and execution Working knowledge of project management technologies and tools including Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies Team-oriented individual comfortable operating in a global corporate structure Highly motivated self-starter who can initiate action and follow through with solutions and action plan The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
