About The Position

As our Project Management Intern, in Columbus, OH at The Ohio State University you will be responsible for supporting ENGIE's Capital Projects team, concentrated on the Combined Heat and Power plant (CHP) being commissioned for The Ohio State University on the Columbus main campus. Every day you will report to the Project Manager I; and assist with materials procurement and subcontracting agreements related to the CHP project. This internship work term will be approximately from January 5, 2026-May 29, 2026.

Requirements

  • You are a Junior or Senior actively pursuing BA or BS with a major in Contract Management and Procurement, Business, E.E.D.S. (environment, economy, development, sustainability), or equivalent.
  • You have a minimum of 1 year completed course work within business, sustainability, finance or related program.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/might drive company vehicle.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
  • You can handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
  • You demonstrate organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, along with a proven ability to take initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Areas of possible work assignment include compiling financial data, timekeeping records, exposure to project management processes, and maintaining the procurement status report.

Responsibilities

  • Assist an ENGIE project manager with the purchasing, document management, and invoicing for the Combined Heat and Power plant (CHP) project.
  • Learn the scopes of work of multiple contractors and commissioning agents onsite.
  • Facilitate coordination between multiple contractors: take meeting minutes, distribute action items, remove logistical constraints as needed.
  • Work cohesively with internal and external stakeholders and work closely on projects directly related to the university.
  • Participate in site inspections, safety walks, and system walk-downs; assist with punch list activities and turnover documentation.
  • Prepare and review technical and contractual correspondence, progress reports, and change order documentation.
  • Maintain project documentation and assist in claim validation and entitlement protection.
  • Work directly with the procurement manager and assist with document control, invoice review, and maintaining the Material Receipt log.
  • Apply QA/QC requirements according to field quality program, installation & testing programs, and plans; ensure work follows applicable codes, statutory regulations, and specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
