Apply today to the Youth Development Professional (YDP) position at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC). The Youth Development Professional is responsible for planning, facilitating, and supervising activities and programs within a designated program area. This role emphasizes empowering youth to achieve their greatest potential by ensuring the safety of members, maintaining the quality of activities, and upholding the appearance of the Club at all times. Primary Function: Planning and conducting a well-rounded program in youth development by implementing Project Based Learning activities that enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines and apply learning to everyday situations.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree from an accredited, four year university or college in a field related to education.
- Must have a valid Florida Teaching Certificate.
- Experience with Project Based Learning.
- Willingness to think outside the box; very energetic; a motivator.
- Excellent verbal and written communication & computer skills (Microsoft Word required).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
