The incumbent provides the overall coordination and completion of the project through the direction of the Construction Project Superintendent. This position has no responsibility for providing patient care. Requirements

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
• Ability to use standard computer applications.
• Ability to lead the work of others.
• Six (6) years of experience working in construction trade areas.
• Depending upon department of hire, a valid, State of Utah Driver's License may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred Apprenticeship or Journeyman certification in one (1) or more of the trade areas.
• Hospital construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and plans projects to ensure that the job is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Acts as liaison to outside contractors in order to schedule and follow-up on the work to be done.
• Visits assigned project sites regularly to ensure compliance to project plans and specifications, and checks for quality of construction, safety violations, and negative air.
• Assists in the review of plans and specifications for construction and remodeling projects.
• Ensures projects comply with specifications and requirements.
• Attends plan review meetings with the architect and engineers to better understand the project and asks appropriate questions regarding construction functions.
• Performs quality control functions.
• Plans, assigns, schedules, and coordinates the daily work force on the job site.
• Instructs and trains employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools.
