TMMG is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Project / Field Engineer to support Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) during the construction of the Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge (TSHD) Adele—a next-generation 347-foot, Royal IHC Beagle Mk2–class vessel being built for The Dutra Group. This position will serve as a technical and coordination hub between ESG’s production and engineering teams, Royal IHC (the design and dredge systems supplier), TMMG, and Dutra’s owner representatives. The engineer will manage day-to-day field engineering, ensure technical compliance, and help drive the project through fabrication, outfitting, testing, and trials over a two-year build period at ESG’s Allanton and Port St. Joe, Florida yards. The candidate is a hands-on, technically grounded marine engineer with strong experience in new construction shipyard environments—someone comfortable walking the deck plates in the morning and reviewing complex vendor drawings by the afternoon. They excel in translating engineering intent into practical field execution and thrive in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder projects that demand coordination, attention to detail, and proactive communication. This engineer should possess a solid foundation in marine systems integration (mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical), combined with a working understanding of class and regulatory requirements such as ABS and U.S. Coast Guard standards. A background in dredging, offshore, or heavy marine equipment construction will be highly valuable. They must be confident managing engineering and production interfaces—bridging communication between shipyard teams, OEM vendors, and design agents like Royal IHC—while ensuring technical accuracy and schedule performance. Above all, the successful candidate demonstrates initiative, accountability, and adaptability. They can balance office-level documentation and reporting with field-level presence, anticipating issues before they impact production. A “get-it-done” mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and genuine pride in vessel quality and performance are essential traits for this role.
