About The Position

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Project Facilitator I supports the development, coordination, and implementation of program activities and outreach strategies. This position combines implementation of all aspects of programming, including active recruitment, community engagement, and participant retention to ensure enrollment targets and program goals are achieved. The Project Facilitator I promotes an integrated approach to service delivery—assessing client needs holistically, connecting participants to supportive services both within and outside the agency, and maintaining positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2 years’ relevant experience with the population from those impacted by community violence.
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of focus, task-oriented, non-judgmental, and clear sense of boundaries
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse individuals
  • Must be available to work in person 5 days a week: evenings or weekends
  • Must be able to travel between numerous sites in different boroughs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs if necessary.

  • Community organizing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, coordinate, and implement all aspects of assigned programs in accordance with program goals and funding requirements.
  • Develop and execute strategic outreach and recruitment plans to identify, attract, and enroll eligible participants.
  • Maintain targeted enrollment numbers and implement retention strategies to ensure ongoing participation and engagement.
  • Conduct orientations and workshops covering program overview, expectations, and workforce readiness.
  • Build rapport with youth and families to encourage consistent attendance and continued engagement.
  • Conduct weekly lessons or group sessions focused on work readiness, career development, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers and Job Developers to identify barriers to participation and provide appropriate support or referrals.
  • Visit worksites regularly (minimum twice weekly) to monitor performance, collect timesheets, and assess participant progress.
  • Collect and verify participant eligibility documentation and enter data into designated tracking systems (DYCD, internal databases).
