About The Position

Related Midwest is seeking an experienced Construction Project Executive to lead all aspects of large-scale, complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in project execution, cost management, contract administration, safety, compliance, and team leadership. This position will be based in Chicago, IL and assigned to major mixed-use and multifamily developments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years construction administration experience with a focus on mid/high multi family residential new and rehabilitation construction projects.
  • Self-motivated leader and results oriented decision maker.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in writing and verbally.
  • Knowledge of architectural, structural, civil and MEP systems
  • Onsite construction/field experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Degree in one of the following disciplines is preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering + Management, Architecture, other related fields or experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Building Connected, Plan Grid, Textura, eBuilder, Microsoft Suite or similar platforms strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all phases of the project to ensure compliance with contract documents and company standards.
  • Coordinate with Architect, Engineers, Design Consultants and Subcontractors to ensure that each group is performing and meeting their responsibilities.
  • Provide overall leadership for assigned construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Direct and oversee all project management functions and coordinate with Site Operations, Safety, and Compliance functions as needed to align project goals, schedules, and budgets.
  • Review project schedules and sequencing, identifying risks or delays and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain regular project cost management reports; including budgets, forecasts and contingency management.
  • Assemble and review pay applications, change orders and stored-material requests.
  • Oversee procurement requirements from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Ensure effective management of submittals, RFIs, and document control systems.
  • Review compliance with public agency requirements, including CHA, DOH, City of Chicago, certified payroll, insurance, and reporting obligations.
  • Prepare executive reports, financial summaries, and compliance documentation.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including inspections, warranties, certifications, and final turnover.
  • Lead and mentor project staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
  • Special projects as required.
