This is a full-time, in-office position at our headquarters location in Oklahoma City. This position requires occasional field work. The Project or Engineering Manager within the Engineering Division is responsible for managing and reviewing engineering projects, including plans, designs, reports, estimated project costs, and studies related to structures, transportation facilities, and systems. The position oversees consultant work, ensures constructability and compliance with design standards, and represents the organization in meetings with stakeholders, contractors, and the public. It also involves providing on-site engineering solutions, assisting with stormwater permitting and reporting, manages and updates OTA’s DEQ and OWRB permitting, and coordinating closely with ODOT to align design activities of shared projects while upholding the interests of the OTA.

Requirements

  • Project Manager A bachelor’s degree At least three years of civil engineering-related work, preferably with an emphasis on transportation. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional level experience for each year of the required education (4 years).
  • Engineering Manager A bachelor’s degree in a respective/corresponding field to Engineering. At least five years of experience in civil engineering related work, with an emphasis on transportation. Professional Engineer license
  • Knowledge of engineering practices, principles and systems; of management principles; and of the principles of effective supervision.
  • Ability is required to design and implement engineering activities; to organize projects; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to supervise personnel; and to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering related tasks; manages, reviews and evaluates the work of engineering consultants.
  • Develops, prepares and/or reviews engineering plans and designs for structures, transportation facilities and/or systems.
  • Develops, prepares and reviews reports and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutions.
  • Facilitates and oversees plan reviews to confirm constructability of plans, scheduled milestones and compliance with OTA design and construction guidelines.
  • Represents OTA in meetings with public officials, transportation professionals, consultants, contractors and the general public.
  • Ensures that the interests of the OTA are upheld.
  • Meets with OTA field personnel on site to provide solutions to engineering problems.
  • Assists in preparation of storm water permits and annual reports.
  • Manages and updates OTA’s DEQ and OWRB permitting.
  • Works closely with ODOT to coordinate various activities in design of shared projects.
