About The Position

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. As a Project Engineer, you'll implement an integrated plan for product development including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release. You will monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. You'll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control status of project programs and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of the program including issue identification, resolution and contingency planning. Requirements

  • Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field of study
  • Typically, 8+ years of progressive technical experience
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practice
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team
  • Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, integration

Nice To Haves

  • Typically 2-4 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers
  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management
  • Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedure
  • Professional Certification in Program Management International (PMI) and/or Program Management Professional (PMP
  • Experience or certification in INCOSE standard
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
