About The Position

Skyline Windows is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business. We are best known for designing, manufacturing, and installing custom windows, window wall systems, and terrace doors. All our products are made to order based on our clients’ project specifications. From landmarks to new construction, high end residential to high volume commercial, we do it all! Position Summary: The Engineer plays a crucial role in collaborating with sales staff, fellow engineers, architects, consultants, and construction managers to deliver high-quality designs. This role requires effective communication skills, both oral and written, particularly in the interpretation of architectural details and the production of shop drawings. The Engineer is responsible for drafting designs, managing projects, conducting field measurements, and ensuring accurate data entry.

Requirements

  • Fluency in AutoCAD with strong experience in manipulating the software. (Strong AutoCAD experience Required)
  • Ability to read and understand Architectural Drawings.
  • Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and management.
  • Knowledge of hand tools relevant to the construction industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism and a strong orientation towards teamwork.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Technical proficiency and accuracy in mathematical skills, data manipulation, and drafting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Window design, fabrication, and installation is advantageous.
  • Experience with metal panel/slab cover is a plus.
  • Proficiency in 3D drawing software is a plus.
  • Experience with architectural façade and Store Fronts is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting designs using AutoCAD software.
  • Interpretation of architectural details and drawings to inform design decisions.
  • Project management to ensure timely completion and adherence to specifications.
  • Effective communication in both technical and business terms. (oral and written)
  • Conducting field measurements and detailing.
  • Accurate data entry to maintain project documentation
