About The Position

American Civil Constructors is currently hiring for a full-time Project Engineer to work out of our McLeansville, NC office. This position will require working on project sites as needed. Travel to projects both local and nationwide is required. Must be capable of up to 50% travel (e.g. 2 weeks or 10 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. When overnight travel is required, meals and lodging will also be provided. American Civil Constructors West Coast, a MasTec company, established in 1987, is a Heavy Civil Construction company. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Management. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years working in project management for a heavy civil construction company with prior experience managing construction projects, preferably involving bridge and/or pavement overlay related work, but other types of experience will be considered
  • Good organizational and time management skills, employee managerial experience, excellent computer skills including strong Microsoft Excel skills, a willingness to learn, ability to work as a team, great communication skills (both verbal and written), enthusiasm and the ability to multi-task and successfully coordinate your projects without direct supervision are all essential to this job.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future is required.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling
  • Tracking Production and Inventory
  • Handling Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
  • Coordinating & Supervising Varying Work Schedules (for Day/Night Work) and Crew Mobilizations from job to job
  • Working Closely with Project Owners, Prime Contractors, Inspectors, Field Engineers, Field Superintendents and Subcontractors/Suppliers as needed to successfully complete our construction projects
