About The Position

The Project Engineer role is designed to develop well-rounded construction professionals with experience across multiple disciplines, including pipelines, field operations, project management, and estimating. This position supports Field Operations and/or Estimating teams in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to client expectations. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career engineers or construction professionals who want broad exposure to the full lifecycle of construction projects and a clearly defined growth path into Project Management, Field Operations, Engineering Services, or Estimating roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and experience
  • 0–5 years of experience in the construction industry or related technical roles
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of construction materials, equipment, methods, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with project management and/or estimating software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; exposure to Microsoft Project, Primavera, or HCSS HeavyJob preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to complete pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background screening
  • Willingness to perform occasional overnight travel
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; exposure to Microsoft Project, Primavera, or HCSS HeavyJob preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators with day-to-day project execution and problem-solving
  • Coordinating labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Supporting material ordering, scheduling, and GPS model development for field operations
  • Assisting Estimators with material takeoffs, bid preparation, and historical cost analysis
  • Preparing estimates, reviewing drawings and specifications, and determining project scope
  • Maintaining project documentation including RFIs, submittals, logs, permits, contracts, purchase orders, and quantity takeoffs
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
  • Actively managing personal development and contributing across multiple areas of the organization
