About The Position

This position is responsible for the optimization of the CNC machining process to drive machine efficiency, reduce downtime and maintain safety. Responsibilities include analyzing process performance, reducing waste, developing technical documentation, managing non-conformance, troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops and maintains standard work for the machine shop. Develops and maintains standard work programming. Develops and maintains Continuous Improvement metrics. Troubleshoots non-conformances and implements Root Cause and Corrective Action. Design and Development of fixturing. Measure and improve first pass yield. Maintain department quality objectives. Provide technical support for the machinist. Diagnoses of CNC program and tooling issues. Perform time studies to drive estimated run time improvement. Analyzation of machine performance. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Programming and Operations. Implement Cycle time reduction practices. Support legacy and new product introduction (NPI) projects working with a team of Program Managers, Project Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Weld Engineers to meet shipment goals. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors. Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with both managers/directors and workers, and collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals. Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and strictly observes all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.

Requirements

5+ years of experience or equivalent experience
Subject matter expert in GD&T.
Experience interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
BS in Mechanical, Quality, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering discipline or 5+ years of equivalent on the job training and experience.
Proficiency in MS Office Products
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Proficiency in Mastercam
Excellent human interaction skills

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience in a defense/aerospace-related job shop environment is a plus.
Ability to obtain security clearance a plus.
