About The Position

PCI is seeking a Project Engineer for its Interior Systems operation based in Des Moines, IA. This individual will assist in all project operations roles working with the oversight of a project manager as they advance to the point of overseeing their own projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction management is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or construction science or related discipline, or comparable work experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
• Customer service skills, such as able to work with customers and build strong relationships.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
• Works well under pressure and deadline.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Blue Beam, Procore, and Microsoft suite
• Experience in the construction industry
• Openness to travel to jobs out of the local market in the future (Not Required)

Responsibilities

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.
• Prepare RFI’s and submittals.
• Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders.
• Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen.
• Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation.
• Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program.
