Moog is looking for a Project Engineer to be an integral part of our Actuation Design Engineering Team, delivering highly complex electro-mechanical, mechanical, and hydro-mechanical components and systems for flight actuation applications to our Military Group customers. In this role you will be expected to provide technical leadership, planning, scheduling, cost reporting, and authoritative decision making. This work will be in support of advanced development programs that provide some of the industry’s most sought-after flight actuation components and systems on next generation aircraft for the Military Aircraft Group. This position is based in East Aurora, NY. Moog Aircraft Group is the leader of advanced flight controls for commercial and military aircraft. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of professional experience in engineering and/or project management OR Master’s Degree in Engineering with 1+ years of professional experience in engineering and/or project management
  • Ability to travel 10-20%
  • This job requires access to US export-controlled information

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly prefer a Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Engineering experience in the aerospace industry
  • Project management or project engineering work experience
  • Experience in the design, analysis, and development of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical or electro-pneumatic systems
  • Project/team leadership experience
  • Experience in EVMS fundamentals, project planning, scheduling and resource loading; experience with MS Project
  • Skills: Self-starter with strong organizational skills

  • Strong familiarity with MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers to execute various product development phases via Moog’s common development process, including design, testing, and manufacturing.
  • Create and guide execution of project schedules, including earn value management reporting.
  • Contribute to the development, validation, and verification of product requirements through consultation with customers and suppliers.
  • Be a key contributor to the preparation of proposal designs, cost estimates, and technical volume writeups.
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.
  • Drive dynamic troubleshooting and problem solving efforts which are integral to the design process.
  • Communicate and coordinate with numerous functions internal and external to Moog to facilitate project execution (i.e. supply chain, manufacturing, project engineering, program management, systems, electronics, test equipment, manufacturing, inspection, A&T, etc. ).
  • Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
