About The Position

The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating engineering projects for structural steel work platforms/structures. Provides technical support to the sales department, manufacturing and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Minimum five years prior engineering experience in design, estimating and/or project engineering with at least two years as a project engineer.
  • Proficiency in using 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time.

  • E. Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and check work platforms/structures for proper design and code (building) compliance to ensure a safe structure. Modify or create AutoCAD drawings as necessary to design process.
  • Check AutoCAD approval drawings for proper design of work platforms/structures and conformance to customers’ requests.
  • Review returned approval drawings from customer for any requested changes that affect design, structural integrity and cost.
  • Discuss and coordinate projects with sales, other departments and customers. Provide detailed project information to project files.
  • Travel to job sites to verify existing site dimensions to ensure that work platforms/structures will fit into building properly.
  • Coordinate shipping and installation of work platforms/structures with appropriate departments.
