We have tremendous opportunities for driven leaders looking for a high-energy career. The State Group is seeking an Automation Project Engineer based in North America. This position reports directly to the Controls Project Engineer. The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering design, including electrical hardware and software and has in depth knowledge of various hardware and software systems. They understand and interpret customer standards and drawing templates to meet electrical and software requirements while working under fixed customer driven timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field.
  • 2+ years of experience in automation-based project engineering. Automotive manufacturing and GM body shop experience preferred.
  • Hardware and software design experience required.
  • Proficiency with controls software such as Rockwell and Siemens.
  • Ability to read, create, manipulate, and review both 2D and 3D drawings, manually and using EPLAN and AutoCAD software.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive manufacturing and GM body shop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete hardware and software design tasks to successfully meet all customer requirements.
  • Attend project status, planning, and problem-solving meetings.
  • Complete design deliverables with accuracy and quality according to controls lineups, layout standards, and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate and execute technical solutions as required for engineering projects and provide support to all internal and external customers as required.
  • Identify design issues and bring to the attention of the project manager.
  • Participate and support in various project team improvement efforts.
  • Provide remote support to controls engineers during field startup activities where required and related to project designs.
