About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking a Project Engineer for the Advanced Production and Automation (APA) team in Everett, Washington. This role is part of Boeing's global Engineering & Technology Innovation team, which focuses on creating and implementing innovative technologies for the future of aerospace. The APA team comprises engineers, technicians, scientists, and innovators working on advanced production systems technologies, including developing customer-facing tools, automated vision systems, advanced analysis techniques, and enterprise-wide software applications. This position is for highly experienced engineers at the Subject Matter Expert and Senior levels, providing technical and project leadership for advanced manufacturing initiatives aimed at improving aircraft production, strengthening operational capability, and delivering high-impact solutions across the enterprise. The selected candidate will advise management and customers on advanced technical research and act as an organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience developing cross functional processes, creating and managing engineering deliverables (i.e. Engineering / Manufacturing, Engineering / Supply Chain, Engineering / Program Management, Engineering / Quality, etc.)
  • Experience providing technical leadership to cross functional engineering projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in advanced manufacturing, automation, robotics, or production systems.
  • Experience leading strategic technical initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting proposal development, program planning, or executive-level briefings.
  • Experience advising leadership or customers in a technical environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • ABET accreditation is preferred, though not required (in the U.S.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical, business, and integration leadership for advanced manufacturing projects and programs.
  • Serve as an organization spokesperson for advanced technical initiatives.
  • Advise management and customers on advanced technical research studies and project direction.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, manage, and execute statements of work, scope, resources, and schedules.
  • Oversee project performance, including metrics, baseline comparisons, and corrective actions.
  • Manage scope changes and their impact to cost, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Direct proposal development and support strategic planning and execution.
  • Ensure technical rigor, consistency, and alignment across project outputs.
  • Lead research, test, development, and implementation efforts for advanced manufacturing solutions.
