About the Role: Crusoe is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our growing Project Engineering team. This role will focus specifically on the power generation aspects of our large-scale data center projects and digital flare mitigation projects, encompassing electrical and mechanical systems. You will play a critical role in the planning, design, execution, and commissioning of power generation systems, ensuring reliable and efficient power delivery to our data centers. This position requires a strong understanding of power generation technologies, mechanical engineering principles, and project management methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Construction Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in power generation project engineering, preferably in large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of power generation technologies, including turbine generators, diesel generators, natural gas generators, and renewable energy sources.
  • Extensive experience with rotating equipment, specifically aeroderivative or industrial turbines.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI)
  • Proficient project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with site supervision and construction management is a plus.
  • Experience in data center power and mechanical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Engineering team in the development and execution of power generation projects, from concept to commissioning.
  • Contribute to the design and specification of power generation systems, including generators, switchgear, transformers, piping systems, heat exchangers, pumps, and associated auxiliary systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering firms, contractors, and vendors, to ensure project success.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses related to power systems, including load flow studies, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality of workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
  • Support the commissioning and testing of power generation systems, ensuring proper operation and performance.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices in power generation.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering standards and procedures.
  • Foster a safe and collaborative work environment.
