About The Position
A well-established heavy civil construction firm is seeking a Project Engineer to support transportation and infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania. This role works closely with Project Managers and field teams to assist with project coordination, documentation, compliance, and communication with public-sector owners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in heavy civil or infrastructure construction
- Experience working with public owners such as PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission
- Basic understanding of DOT specifications and public-sector construction processes
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Nice To Haves
- Internship or field experience on roadway, bridge, or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with project management, scheduling, or document control software
- Experience on publicly funded construction projects
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in day-to-day project execution
- Assist with coordination between owners, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Maintain project schedules, cost tracking, and progress reports
- Support compliance with DOT, safety, and quality requirements
- Participate in meetings with public owners and stakeholders
- Assist with closeout documentation and final project reporting
