Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of MDA and USDA food plant regulations, sanitary design principles, and HACCP standards.
  • Strong project management skills with proven experience in budgeting and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, project management tools, and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute capital and operational projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure all projects meet MDA and USDA requirements, including sanitary design, food safety, and inspection readiness.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to integrate compliance into engineering solutions.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
  • Design and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Support installation, validation, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
  • Apply sanitary design principles to all facility and equipment modifications.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety teams to align engineering projects with plant needs.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to plant personnel on new systems and equipment.
  • Incorporate OSHA and environmental standards into project execution.
  • Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within plant operations.
