About The Position

Position Overview We are looking for a motivated and talented Project Engineer to join our firm in one of our Bellevue/Seattle area offices. This position is eligible to be based on our Portland, Oregon office. If you are looking to advance your career while working alongside industry experts, this opportunity is for you! You should be a self-starter and possess strong technical and writing skills to support a wide range of environmental projects. Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent verbal communication skills, and a positive attitude. What we are looking for The Project Engineer will perform professional engineering work supporting a broad range of projects that reflect Farallon’s core practices including: Remedial investigations and feasibility studies; Field investigations including drilling, injection work, and pilot testing; Remediation system design and construction oversight; Cleanup implementation including mass extraction, soil vapor or multi-phase extraction, injection, and ongoing operations and maintenance of exiting systems. Stormwater management and compliance including preparation of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans, implementation of temporary erosion and sediment control measures, and other systems. The engineering work requires a basic professional knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques for soil, groundwater, surface water, and/or sediment remediation under the direction of senior engineering staff. What you will be doing at Farallon: Assist with preparation of system design documents, permit applications (e.g. PSCAA, CSGP and others), construction plans, and technical reports; Assist with preparation of submittal documents for SEPA reviews, Ecology Stormwater General Permits, Underground Injection Program permitting, grading and land use permits; Prepare design calculations and analyses, construction cost estimates, and construction specifications; Review operations and maintenance records of system performance and manage system performance; Developing preliminary designs using AutoCAD under the direction of senior engineering staff; Plan and manage field investigations projects in accordance with prepared Work Plans, industry standards of care, and Farallon’s health and safety practices; Performing construction observation and quality assurance with assistance of senior staff; Professionally representing Farallon to clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and others; and Availability to travel at least 20 percent of the time or as required.

Requirements

  • ABET accredited B.S. degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum three years of experience in environmental or civil consulting or similar field.
  • Current Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and ability to sit the PE exam in Washington State within the next two years.
  • Valid driver’s license in Washington State.
  • Basic competency with Microsoft Office Suite, and BlueBeam.
  • Strong project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
