Summary Provides technical leadership for the design, development, production, test, and acceptance of simulation training devices. Applies mature engineering knowledge and planning practices. Fosters the development of a common vision, provides technical direction and priorities, and clarifies roles and responsibilities within the team. Acts as technical link between CAE and the customer.

Requirements

  • BS or MS Degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience with 7 years in flight simulation
  • Flight simulation experience with detailed knowledge of flight simulator hardware and software technology.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to create and understand technical documents related to aircraft, computers, electronics and flight simulation technology.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Must be able to perform normal office duties (sitting for long periods at a desk and in technical meetings)
  • Must be able to travel CONUS and to International sites for extended periods
  • Should be familiar with and be able to operate simulation training devices such as: full flight motion devices, maintenance training devices, entertainment devices and fixed base training devices.
  • Should be familiar with and able to support Engineering or Operations staff on any type and sub-component of training devices.
  • Must be able to climb stairs on a regular basis
  • Must be willing to work overtime
  • The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for arranging and directing technical activities of large-scale programs and coordinates engineering activities across many disciplines.
  • Ensures that the company’s flight simulation product matches the aircraft and meets contractual requirements.
  • Schedules and coordinates engineering program execution.
  • Commands a clear understanding of Hardware and Software Integration (HSI) issues.
  • Implements corrective measures for all HSI issues that are not compliant to requirements.
  • Provides technical expertise during subjective and objective evaluations of training devices.
  • Manages the resolution of all acceptance faults.
  • Participates in installations and final acceptance of training devices.
  • Coordinates and reviews technical/operational deliverables prior to submission to customer.
  • Responsible for training device from requirements to final acceptance.
  • Authors, coordinates, and leads presentations of formal reviews with customers as required for assigned programs.
  • Provides support for Program Managers on all technical matters.
  • Act as the focal point for all customer technical matters with hands-on solutions to hardware and software problems.
  • Resolves technical problems and provides technical support on sub-system designs.
  • Assign engineering team to specific tasks based on program requirements.
  • Supports the development of the system architecture for a program as well as the technical directives and standards to transfer technical knowledge of product’s capabilities to the customer.
  • Supports new work and scope change proposals: Cost estimate development and reviews. Technical Specification generation and reviews. Responses to Request for Proposals (RFP). Technical supervision and assessment of sub-contracted efforts.
  • Supports program baselining efforts, which include: WBS development, IMS development, resource requests, budget allocations, and JIRA project development.
  • Provides guidance to junior team members.
