About The Position

You will be the Project Engineer for the Missiles & Fire Control Industrial Engineering team. Our team is responsible for applying manufacturing and Industrial Engineering concepts to support site‑wide production. What You Will Be Doing As the Project Engineer you will be responsible for driving the planning, scheduling, and execution of manufacturing and space‑planning related projects. You will serve as the primary liaison among Production, Engineering, Facilities, Program Management, and functional leadership. You will develop and maintain detailed project plans, an integrated master schedule, and status artifacts to keep work on track, and you may manage multiple projects simultaneously. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Project Planning & Scheduling – develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, maintain baseline schedules, track critical paths, and update forecasts when scope changes or risks arise. Cross‑Functional Coordination – partner with Production, Engineering, Facilities, Program Management, and other functional teams to define requirements, milestones, and deliverables; facilitate regular coordination meetings, capture action items, and close loops on decisions. Stakeholder Communication – produce and distribute regular status reports and executive briefings to senior leadership and stakeholders. Risk & Compliance Management – identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while enforcing Lockheed Martin safety and compliance standards. Support Analyses – assist in developing cost estimates, return‑on‑investment analyses, and business cases for new project proposals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-pressure, fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, from shop floor to executive leadership.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of project engineering or coordination experience on construction/facilities projects.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment for the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Proficient with project scheduling tools (MS Project, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of capital project planning, construction coordination, and large-scale equipment integration.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Trained.
