About The Position

Are you ready to lead transformative engineering projects that shape the future of supply chain sustainability? CHEP is looking for a Project Engineer to join one of the world’s most sustainable and forward-thinking supply chain organizations. The Project Engineer, Track & Trace Serialization (North) will support the successful execution of capital engineering projects across the CHEP operations network by developing project plans, managing installations, and ensuring equipment is commissioned to meet operational standards. The Project Engineer must collaborate with cross-functional teams and external contractors to ensure all projects meet safety, performance, and budgetary goals, while adhering to Zero Harm principles and environmental regulations. This position requires up to 50% travel. Candidates must located near a major US airport.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years project engineering and/or related project management experience
  • Leading Continuous Improvement Equipment Design Initiatives
  • Operations and/or Supply Chain experience, supporting production
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration with multiple levels within the organization
  • Material handling and automation experience, conveyance, robotics
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Related Technical Field
  • Capital Equipment Project Management
  • Lean
  • PMI Certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute capital engineering projects, ensuring that all necessary safety, environmental, and regulatory standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the design and layout of new equipment installations, coordinating with internal teams to ensure proper placement, functionality, and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Manage the commissioning process for all new equipment, ensuring that project schedules are adhered to and performance standards are met, including adherence to CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, Verification) processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments for machinery safety, ensuring that installations are compliant with Zero Harm and local safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for each project.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to provide ongoing support during the project, including troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Provide technical solutions and recommendations to guide the development and improvement of projects.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are regularly updated and consulted throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate training for operators and maintenance personnel on the new equipment, ensuring seamless handover and operational readiness.
  • Monitor contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to performance standards, technical requirements, and project timelines.
  • Ensure seamless integration of multiple supplier systems when working on complex installations.
